Throwing the Best Summer Party

22 July

Hello friends! Welcome back or welcome to This Is Home. In honor of summer, I thought it would be a lovely idea to share my best summer party tips with you!

1 // Your Guests
The first part to a successful party is your guests that will be attending. Write out everyone you want to invite, notify them and get a good idea of how many people you will be hosting. This will help with the rest of the process.

2 // Pick Your Menu Items
Let’s all be honest. Whether a party is God-awful or amazing is based upon the food selection. Plan your menu items around what you think yourself and your guests will enjoy. Are there going to be kiddos attending your party? Maybe more picky-person friendly foods should be served.

Tip: Looking for a dip? Consider Chobani’s new Meze Dip!

3 // Timing
Timing is absolutely everything. If you host your party on a Friday night, people may be less likely to come. Have you tried leaving your house on a Friday night after a long week at work? It’s hard. Saturdays may be more convenient for many! Also, eliminate holiday weekends. Many people have prior plans or traditions to uphold.

4 // Drinks
Make sure you have plenty of options regarding drink selection. Water, lemonade and maybe some soda options. If you do offer alcohol, remember to offer other drinks as well for those who may not want alcoholic beverages.

5 // Music
Have some music playing to keep the party going on strong. Create a playlist using an app like Spotify or keep the mystery by using services like Pandora or IHeartRadio. Pandora and IHeartRadio both shuffle the music. So, less work on your part!

A huge part of throwing a summer party is to make it your own. Feature foods or activities that will give your party pizzazz. Be unique and make your summer party memorable for yourself and for your guests!
